Malang, 15 October 2023. Indonesia has again been shocked by the alleged corruption case committed by the Indonesian Government. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detected an alleged corruption case involving the Minister of Agriculture, namely Syahrul Yasin Limpo, on suspicion of extortion in office, gratification, and also participation in the procurement of goods or services at the Ministry of Agriculture.

It is known that according to the KPK, investigators suspect that there are total funds amounting to Rp. 13.9 billion which has been enjoyed by Syahrul Yasin Limpo, of course these funds are of fantastic value. Apart from that, Syahrul Yasin Limpo is suspected of also making a personal policy to ask for deposits from echelon I and echelon II State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Ministry of Agriculture ( Ministry of Agriculture).

In the alleged corruption case committed by Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Syahrul was assisted by two of his subordinates, namely Kasdi and Hatta. All the money that has been deposited with Syahrul is used to meet his personal needs and those of his immediate family, including paying credit card installments, installments for the purchase of the Alphard car owned by Syahrul Yasin Limpo, apart from that it is also used for personal home repairs, plane tickets for the family, and medical treatment. as well as facial care for his family worth billions of rupiah. It's very funny, isn't it, that a Minister of Agriculture who should be able to protect and provide comfort to staff who work within the Ministry of Agriculture, but Syahrul prefers to use extortion in his position to enrich himself.

According to Ayu Evita Sari, one of the UMM IP students class of 2021, from the alleged corruption case committed by Syahrul Yasin Limpo, of course this reality is something that is very detrimental to the state but also to the people who should be the target group. Not only that, this kind of corruption also tarnishes the good image and the existence of bureaucracy in Indonesia. Especially in the midst of Indonesia's agricultural conditions which seem to be 'not well' due to recent extreme climate conditions, disasters, and even a crisis of young talent in the agricultural sector (regeneration of the agricultural sector). The ministry that was supposed to be the captain to bring the flow of development for Indonesian agriculture actually defected and steered the ship into a vortex that caused the loss of goals and huge losses. From this we can see that a leader has a big influence on what and who he leads. Whether a result is good or bad is the work of a leader's hands and thoughts.
