The Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang offers a flagship program called the Center of Excellence (CoE) to equip students with strong practical and theoretical competencies, aimed at producing outstanding and competitive graduates. This CoE is designed to support student capacity development through two main classes:

Professional Certification Institute (LSP)
The Professional Certification Institute (LSP) is an official body tasked with assessing and certifying individual competencies in accordance with national work standards. The LSP of the Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang is committed to producing a professional generation ready to compete in the job market. Supported by modern facilities, competent assessors, and national certification schemes, this LSP serves as a strategic partner in preparing graduates with expertise in community empowerment. Students are trained to design, implement, and evaluate programs effectively through intensive training and competency tests. With certified skills, graduates are expected to become agents of change, addressing development challenges at local, national, and international levels.

This CoE is designed to support student capacity development through two main classes:
1.School of Political and Government Analysis

The Center of Excellence (CoE) “School of Government and Political Analysis” under the Government Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (FISIP-UMM) is a research-based flagship center designed to support the university’s vision of becoming an institution rooted in excellence. This CoE aims to meet the needs of stakeholders, including students, alumni, government institutions, political parties, and NGOs, through the enhancement of education quality, institutional capacity building, as well as research relevance and productivity. The program is expected to contribute broadly both internally and externally, while gaining national and international recognition from various entities.
2.School of Village Governance
The Village Governance Class is a flagship program or CoE of the Government Studies Program designed to meet the community's need for skilled human resources in the field of Village Governance. This class is structured with the involvement of various partners from planning, implementation, to evaluation stages. The goal is for students or participants who have completed this CoE class to be directly absorbed by the partners collaborating with the program.
The program runs for two semesters, with the first semester focusing on theoretical concepts and training provided by practitioners/partners. In the second semester, participants undertake CoE internships at partner institutions. Partners involved in this CoE program include the Batu City Government, Malang City Government, Malang Regency Government, Magetan Regency Government, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Cooperation
The Government Science Study Program continues to expand its international collaboration with leading institutions such as ACICIS (Australian Consortium for In-Country Indonesian Studies), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and other global institutions. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of education, research, and human resource development in the fields of government science and public policy.
Through this international collaboration, the Government Science Study Program provides opportunities for students and faculty to engage in various academic programs, including student exchange, international internship programs, joint research, and international conferences. It also supports the development of curricula that are relevant to global and regional challenges, enriching students' perspectives, and strengthening the program's position within the international academic community.

The Government Science Study Program remains committed to expanding its collaborative network with various higher education institutions, both public and private, to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service. This collaboration is realized through various programs such as student exchange, research collaboration, joint seminars and conferences, and curriculum development based on future needs.
