Malang, April 12, 2023. To equip students as future government resources who are able to answer all the challenges of the times, the UMM Government Science Study Program held a CoE lecture with the theme "Development and Optimization of Public Service Resources". This activity was attended by students from batch 2020 who are members of the Center of Excellence (CoE) program or the Government and Political Analyst superior class. This guest lecture presented a guest speaker who had been involved in the government sector for many years, namely Mr. Agus Purwanto, M.Kes who served as Lurah Purwodadi Malang City.

In the lecture Mr. Agus Purwanto, M.Kes explained the concept of public service and its implementation in his activities while serving as a lurah. Mr. Agus shared his years of experience as a lurah as well as ASN with students. He also explained further related to the survey instrument and SKM preparation strategy in the context of public services. SKM has been regulated in Permenpan Number 14 of 2017 concerning Guidelines for Compiling Community Satisfaction Surveys in Public Service Delivery Units. In his explanation he said that SKM was needed to measure the performance of service providers on a periodic basis, as a basis for determining policies in service improvement, active community participation in public service delivery, and to spur positive competition between service delivery units.
This guest lecture activity also received a positive response from students. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students in each question and answer session given by the speakers. Mr. Agus Purwanto, M.Kes formed 2 discussion groups to dissect cases related to SKM in the context of public services. Students feel they have gained new knowledge that they have never gotten anywhere else through this guest lecture. At the end of the class session students presented the results of their group discussions related to SKM in the context of public service. Students learn what their position will be if they become a government practitioner like Mr. Agus Purwanto, M.Kes.
