Riyanda Barmawi first arrived in the city of Malang in 2000. In that year, Rian, as he is commonly called, entered SD 01 Blimbing Elementary School in Malang. He completed his elementary education there until 2004. In 2005, Rian returned to his hometown in North Maluku to continue his studies in Junior High School and Senior High School. In 2011, Rian returned to Malang to pursue his undergraduate degree in Government Science at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. This 19-year-old youth is known for his hard work and persistence in achieving his goals. Choosing the Government Science department at UMM was not without reason; it was a carefully considered decision aimed at fulfilling his dreams. For him, studying Government Science is a necessary step to realize his goal of becoming a regional leader. Becoming a regional leader has been his dream since he was in high school. For Rian, the aspiration to become a regional leader is not just about having power and authority, but more than that, it is about using power and authority as tools to create a high level of national civilization—prosperous, safe, peaceful, and just.

Currently, Rian is known as an active student in his lectures, organizations, and other academic activities. With his determination and hard work, in 2011 (first semester), he was entrusted as the General Treasurer of the Government Science Student Association, in 2012 he was re-elected as the Vice Chair of the Government Science Student Association, and from 2011 to 2012, he served as the Chairman of the Halmahera Selatan Student and Student Association in Malang. Rian is also active in various academic activities, and in 2012, he was one of the delegates from the Government Science department to attend the National Congress of the Indonesian Government Science Students’ Communication and Cooperation Forum (FOKKERMAPI). Despite his involvement in organizational activities, Rian has not neglected his primary duty as a student: attending lectures. According to him, studying is the primary responsibility entrusted by his parents in order to secure a bright future. Therefore, both his academic and organizational activities are equally prioritized and taken seriously. His motto in life is "God does not test a servant beyond their ability, therefore, optimism as a nation’s cadre must be instilled from an early age to achieve one’s dreams."
