Thursday, February 28, 2018, the Government Science Study Program has a superior program to go international. One of them is the Student Exchange program, which is a student exchange program from overseas universities to the Government Science study program. This is proof that the Government Science Study Program is internationally known and recognized with the presence of foreign students, specifically students from the College of Local Administration (COLA) Khon Kaen University, Thailand.
During their time in the Government Science Study Program, students from Thailand carry out various activities including conducting public discussions, Indonesian language courses, conducting social activities, lectures and teaching Thai language courses. An important point in this Student Exchange is that Thai students have a special task to conduct research in Indonesia, especially in Malang with themes that are tailored to the interests of each student.
Sittisak Kaeothanmanukun, Suparom Wongracha, Mintra Wongwirat and Kanarwut Duangin are students from the College of Local Administration (COLA) Khon Kaen University, Thailand who are currently undertaking a Student Exchange program in the Government Science study program. Each of them is conducting research on adaptation, obstacles, living and well-being of Thai People In Indonesia, the guidelines to conserve local identity: a case study of Malang City, East Java, Indonesia, The Study Process Political Participation of Children and Youth in Indonesia and The Model of Financial Preparation For The Future of people Indonesia. To facilitate the research activities of the students above, the Government Science Study Program provides a supervisor for them.
One of the foreign students from COLA, Khon Kaen University, Thailand expressed his impression while studying at the Government Science Study Program, FISIP-UMM, saying that "we are happy and pleased with the welcome and service from the Government Science Study Program, while studying here, we learned a lot about the academic climate here, learned Indonesian and culture in Malang. The people are friendly, polite and friendly to us even though we are foreigners, said Mintra Wongwirat who is familiarly called Min.
Head of Government Science Study Program Muhammad Kamil MA, commented "with the presence of foreign students studying in this beloved Government Science Study Program, it will certainly continue to encourage us to continue to do our best to make improvements for the progress of the Study Program and the university to become a world class university. We will increase the quantity and quality of this cooperation by improving the competence of lecturers' human resources, the best academic services and providing sufficient facilities that support the implementation and development of a good academic culture so that foreign students who study here can feel comfortable and safe".
