Malang, 5 Maret 2020.  The Government Science Student Association holds a Basic Philosophy Class. The activity that carries the theme "Introduction to Philosophy" is located in the 3rd Floor Student Center Hall of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. This activity is part of the work program of the Field of Education and Reasoning (PILAR) in collaboration with the Circle Discourse Philosophy Study Team (LSFD) Malang. Furthermore, this event was attended not only by students of Government Science, but also from various majors such as Sociology, International Relations, and even Informatics Engineering. This study is basically carried out because it considers that it is very important for students to explore the basics of Science for the creation of qualified, critical, and idealistic academics. This activity is a new breakthrough and is a superior program planned to be held for three meetings. The main focus is so that students can understand the methodology of thinking on the basis of philosophical studies.

The introductory theme of basic philosophy is a gateway for students to enter and understand the nature of philosophy before further discussing the methodology of thinking. The introduction to this philosophy focuses on the aspect of realizing that human beings are essentially beings who always ask questions. By asking, it means that humans will be more critical in terms of the knowledge they obtain by means of a holistic/universal, radical/fundamental, coherent/systematic, and logical method. This basic philosophical material is hosted by Ricky Prayoga and facilitated by Yogi Ardani from LSFD, very motivating participants to think and reason well so that the aim is to increase students' intellectual power apart from formal lectures obtained informal classes. The Philosophy Class from HMJ Government Science in collaboration with LSF Discourse will not only stop at this meeting but there will be subsequent forums that will discuss related methods of philosophical thinking, branches from philosophy to logic. Therefore, the study of thinking methodology can hone students' interest to learn and continue learning.
