Malang, June 7, 2024—Mr. Suliono, the Head of Tulungrejo Village, shared his insights with students from the Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang on the developments within the village. It is worth noting that Tulungrejo Village has received numerous awards from various institutions for its achievements and success in developing the village’s potential.
In his presentation, Suliono, as he is commonly called, explained that the village head not only serves as the head of government but also as the head of local customs. He emphasized the importance of having managerial skills, which include the ability to organize, lead, and manage tasks or teams effectively.
The challenges faced at the village level are not solely caused by internal factors, but can also stem from macro-level issues at the subdistrict, district, provincial, or even central government levels.
Thus, addressing these issues requires balance to prevent potential conflicts. Therefore, there must be a Village Development Planning Document (RPJM-Des) to address problems based on priorities.
The village’s capacity to implement development programs can be assessed by the availability of budgets, village authority, and available resources. It is expected that solving problems based on priorities will be carried out effectively and efficiently.
Moreover, the community benefits from these efforts by gaining opportunities to actively participate in the village’s development and voice their aspirations.
