Thursday, September 14 2023. All levels of functionaries of the UMM Government Science Study Program welcomed the arrival of new students from the Class of 2023 through Pesmaba (Introduction to New Student Studies) activities at the study program level. This activity was attended directly by Mr. Muhammad Kamil, S.IP., MA as Head of the UMM Government Science Study Program, Mr. Ach. Apriyanto Romadhan, S.IP., M.Si as Secretary of the UMM Government Science Study Program, and also attended by lecturers and staff in the UMM Government Science study program and laboratory.
There are 99 new students from the Government Science Study Program class of 2023 who previously passed the selection process. Not only taking part in Pesmaba activities at the Department Level, previously students have also taken part in Pesmaba at the faculty and university level. This activity essentially provides an understanding of academic culture to new students.
During Pesmaba activities, students were introduced to one of the taglines, namely "UMM PASTI" which means 'Definitely Graduating on Time, Definitely Working, Definitely Independent'. This belief is also instilled by the UMM Government Science Study Program in new students. Apart from that, it is hoped that this activity will be the beginning of the journey that students will take in welcoming community life.
"So, the Government Science Study Program also really emphasizes the 'UMM Pasti' program as previously conveyed by the Dean of FISIP. "Here students are given the widest possible opportunity to take part in various programs that can speed up graduation, namely in semester 7 and the form of the final assignment does not have to be a thesis," said Mr. Kamil as Head of Study Program.
Apart from that, Mr. Kamil also conveyed to the new students that the preparation of final assignments can be started in the first semester, because the ideas they have must be written down immediately so that the students' ideas do not just evaporate.
It is hoped that new students from the UMM Government Science Study Program will become a Resilient Generation who will be ready to face all challenges in the future. (van/roz)
