The Government Science Student Association (HIMAP) held a scientific study entitled “The Existence of Political Parties in Forming Competent Cadres”. This activity aims to build and shape the character of critical and intelligent students. In addition, the event held at BAU UMM, Wednesday (16/5), is a form of HIMAP's existence in organizing scientific discussions as well as training student leadership. Present as speakers, Director of Malang Corruption Watch (MCW), Lutfi Jayadi Kurniawan and Lecturer of Government Science Study Program in the field of Political Party studies, Iradhad Taqwa Sihidi. Both speakers provided knowledge about the importance of the role of political parties in producing competent cadres. Thus, the role of political parties is very vital in capturing and producing cadres who will occupy positions in the executive and legislative branches. The role of students is also important in choosing candidates offered by political parties, as well as overseeing the democratization process.
This scientific study certainly received support from the Government Science Study Program. The form of support is the presence of the Head of the Government Science Study Program, Salahudin, S.IP, M.Si, M.P.A, who provides motivation to Government Science students as well as opening the discussion event. The hope is that epistemic discussions like this can be sustainable, where HIMAP is the driving force of scientific studies.
