Malang, December 18, 2023. In order to provide direct learning experience in the field, the UMM Government Science Laboratory facilitates students to practice to be able to understand the waste management process at the Final Disposal Site, precisely located at the Supit Urang TPA, Malang City.
This field practicum activity was attended by all students of the Urban Politics course practicum taught by Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si. During the field practicum activity, students were accompanied by the Laboratory Team and the Practicum Instructor.
During the field practicum, technically students are invited to go around each waste management post. Among them, starting from the waste sorting process, waste grinding, to the waste processing or recycling process. The one who acts as a tour guide and speaker for the participants is the Team from TPA Supit Urang itself.
"Welcome fellow students from UMM Government Science who have come to learn about waste management. Here we will see directly how the process of managing and recycling the waste itself. My message, fellow students must be able to sort waste before throwing it into the trash and before being transported to this TPA," said one of the speakers while giving a speech.
Through the field practicum activities at the Supit Urang TPA in Malang City, students are expected to be able to understand one of the complex urban problems, namely the problem of waste. Because, the problem of waste is a serious problem and requires continuous handling. (van/roz)
