The students of Government Studies, especially from the 2011 class A, are not indifferent to the conditions of the society around them. They carried out a social action to help those in need by conducting a social service activity. Hendra, the coordinator of the social action, admitted that the social service they organized was far from perfect. According to him, it is better to do something than nothing at all. "So far, students have enjoyed organizing activities that do not directly impact the community around us. The social service held is still far from expectations, but no matter how small our capacity is, it must be realized in a tangible form so that the community can feel the benefits directly," he explained.
This activity received positive appreciation from the Head of the Government Studies Program, Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si. She stated that it is high time for students to take real action for the community. Real actions should not have to wait for the Community Service Program. Students should be sensitive to the issues developing in society, including the challenges faced by people with social welfare problems. "It is better for students to take real action than just rhetoric," she said, pleased with her students' social service efforts.
The event, which took place on May 14, was warmly welcomed by the community, especially the recipients of the social service. "We are very proud of the Government Studies students from UMM who conducted this social service activity in our village. We hope that all the students involved in this activity receive blessings from Allah and that their dreams come true. Amen. This is the prayer of a mother," she said.
