Malang, October 2, 2024, marks the commemoration of National Batik Day. Batik is one of Indonesia's cultural heritages that has been recognized by UNESCO. National Batik Day is a way to preserve Indonesia's identity, ensuring that batik becomes more widely known on the international stage. Additionally, National Batik Day serves as an encouragement for batik artisans in Indonesia to continue creating and innovating. As more variations of designs emerge, batik will continue to develop as a symbol of artistic richness.

"As Indonesian students, we should be proud to wear batik. A simple example of how we can preserve batik is by wearing it to our classes," said one of the students from the Government Studies Program. Students across the campus wore batik clothing simultaneously as an expression of love and pride for this indigenous cultural heritage.

In 2024, the theme for National Batik Day is "Proud to Wear Batik." Let us continue to preserve and maintain this original Indonesian cultural legacy.
