A month ago, students organized the Government Research Internship Program. Many findings were uncovered by students in the field regarding the practice of governance. These findings were presented during the final report seminar of the Research Internship in the Multi-Media Room on the first floor of the AR Fachruddin Mosque, UMM. Ary Jatniko, the city-level research internship coordinator, stated, “The government research internship program conducted over a month brought both joys and challenges. The internship provided valuable experiences for us. We were able to interact directly with the government and the community, understand the relationship between society and the government, learn about various government programs, and observe the dynamics of implementing government policies in Malang City. However, there were challenges in the field, particularly in adapting to the work environment," he explained during the presentation of the city-level research internship final report.

The final report of the sub-district level government research internship was no less interesting than that of the city level. Achmad Apryanto, who interned at Gadang Sub-District, shared his report, saying, "Interning at Gadang Sub-District was very enjoyable. We were warmly welcomed and able to work well. We successfully built good relationships with the government and the surrounding residents. As a result of this good relationship, the Sub-District Head entrusted us with a population data entry project, for which we were compensated," he said, greeted with applause from other attendees of the final internship report seminar.

Mr. Heru Muliyono, Head of the Community Empowerment Division of the Family Planning and Community Empowerment Agency (BKBPM) of Malang City and the students’ field supervisor, said, “The second phase of this research internship is considered much better than the previous batch. This is because the second batch was more cohesive and proactive, not waiting for tasks but taking initiative. Their findings will serve as input for improving BKBPM programs in Malang City. We hope this program can continue to contribute to the community in Malang City," he said with hope.
