Malang, July 9, 2024—The Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang successfully organized a practitioner lecture for the 2024 Government Research Internship participants and students from the Center of Excellence (CoE) Program. The event, held at the AR-Fachruddin Mosque Hall, 1st Floor, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, focused on the theme “Investment Management & Social Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Building Economic Independence.”
The lecture featured two distinguished speakers: Yusuf Adam Hilman, S.IP., M.Si., a lecturer in the Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, and Andrian, S.IP., an alumnus of the program and a successful young entrepreneur. Both shared their knowledge and experiences on investment management strategies and how to leverage social entrepreneurship opportunities to promote economic independence.
Yusuf Adam Hilman, with his extensive experience in community empowerment, discussed social entrepreneurship (sociopreneurship). He explained that sociopreneurship differs from conventional entrepreneurship as it provides innovative solutions to address social issues while simultaneously fostering economic independence in communities. Meanwhile, Andrian shared his success strategies in business, starting from his college years, offering fresh inspiration and additional motivation to students on how to start and manage a business effectively.
The event lasted for approximately 3 hours and was attended by enthusiastic students of the Government Studies Program at UMM. During the session, students had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers, which provided them with deeper insights and enhanced their understanding of the topics discussed. Through initiatives like this, the Government Studies Program at UMM continues to be committed to offering education that is not only theoretical but also practical by involving practitioners and experts in the field. It is hoped that activities like these will help students gain knowledge and skills relevant to the demands of the times.
