Malang, April 8, 2024 – To commemorate the holy month of Ramadan, the Public Administration Student Association (HIMAP) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang once again organized the Ramadan Safari event. The event was centered around sharing iftar (takjil) with the community, holding a collective Qur’an recitation (tadarus), and having a shared iftar dinner.
The event took place over two days at different locations. On the first day, HIMAP distributed iftar packages at Landungsari Terminal and around Batu City. On the second day, they held a tadarus session and shared iftar at RTQ At-Taqwa, with the theme “Ramadan Blessings in Strengthening Islamic Brotherhood”.
The Ramadan Safari event was a form of contribution and care from the Public Administration community toward the public, while also fostering connections and relationships. During the first day, the committee distributed a total of 300 cups of drinks in different locations. At Landungsari Terminal, the takjil was given to the general public and drivers such as bus and public transport drivers. In Batu City, the takjil was distributed to those in need, including street crossers, parking attendants, and street vendors.
On the second day, the tadarus and iftar event was held at RTQ At-Taqwa, inviting the head of RTQ, the manager of RTQ At-Taqwa, Ustadz Sukrisno, the administrators, and the students of RTQ At-Taqwa to join the opening of the Ramadan Safari activities.
This two-day event aimed to contribute to and show care for the surrounding community, particularly the people around Landungsari Terminal, those in need in Batu City, and the administrators and students of RTQ At-Taqwa. It also sought to inspire a sense of community awareness during the month of Ramadan among the students of Public Administration at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, while strengthening relationships and fostering better ties with the community.
