The Student Association of the Government Studies Program (HIMAP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) for the 2023/2024 term conducted the Government Leadership Training (LKP) for the Class of 2023. The program carried the theme: "Fostering Leadership Skills by Developing Critical Thinking to Create Adaptive, Innovative, and Creative Students."

The event took place at the Dodik Bela Negara Rindam V/Brawijaya in Malang over three days, from January 15-17, 2024, with 78 participants. These included students from the Class of 2023 and some from the Class of 2022, who attended the training as a make-up program.

“Through this activity, Government Studies students gain foundational knowledge of nationalism and a spirit of patriotism to face challenges in this era of globalization,” said Captain Arh Mulyono, the training instructor.

LKP is a mandatory program for Government Studies students and serves as a requirement for participating in the thesis defense at the end of their studies. This program was made possible through the collaboration of HIMAP UMM, the Government Studies Program, and the Government Studies Laboratory.

During the LKP, participants were provided with both theoretical and practical training on governance leadership. “The realization of this activity is intended to prepare participants to navigate academic life, emphasizing self-discipline and time management, while fostering adaptiveness, creativity, and innovation among Government Studies students,” stated Fahmi, the event chair.

Muhamad Isyardi, President of the Government Studies Student Association, expressed his hopes for the participants. “Over the three days of leadership training, I hope the time, energy, and thoughts you have dedicated will yield benefits. May the discipline and knowledge you have gained be useful and applicable in both academic and social life,” he said.
