On Friday, April 5, 2024, Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si, was officially inaugurated as the Vice Rector V of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) for the 2024–2028 term, focusing on Human Resources Development & Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership’s Educational and Training Assembly, the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Regional Leadership of East Java, the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Regional Leadership of Malang Raya, the Secretary and Members of the Daily Management Board of UMM, the Secretary and Members of the UMM Student Senate, the Rector and Vice Rectors of 2019-2024, the Rector of UMM, Deans, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, Heads of Institutions, and UMM Partners.
It was a proud moment for the Program of Public Administration at UMM as one of its faculty members, Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, became the Vice Rector V, making her the only female vice rector appointed by UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si, on that Friday.
Previously, Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih served in various roles, including as the Secretary of the Public Administration Program, Assistant Dean II of FISIP, Chair of ACICIS UMM, Head of LK UMM, and in the Internal Quality Assurance division at UMM. Additionally, she has held responsibilities within Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah at both the central and regional levels.
Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si is known for her active and energetic personality. Aside from teaching, she frequently engages in research, especially on topics related to social change and government dynamics. Her interest in these issues has led her to publish her ideas in various books and journals.
In his speech, UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si said, “One of the most important things in our efforts to manage and advance the Muhammadiyah-affiliated institution, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, is to continue to grow into a better and more promising future.” He expressed hope that with the appointment of Prof. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si as Vice Rector V, UMM will move toward a brighter future.
