The Thai language course is held free of charge by the UMM Government Affairs and Administration Study Program. There are 15 students taking the language course from various classes, from semester 2 to semester 8. Every week, the course is held every Friday and Saturday at 13.00 WIB at the UMM Government Science Laboratory. The Thai language teachers are exchange students from COLA Khon Kaen University Thailand, namely Ms. Suparom Wongracha, Ms. Mintra Wongwirat, Mr. Kanarwut Duangin and Mr. Sittisak Kaeothanmanukun. The course, which has been running for 2 weeks, has provided a lot of knowledge to the Government Affairs and Administration students. The Government Affairs and Administration students are taught about vocabulary, alphabet, numbers, and declarative sentences, questions and others.
IP students are very enthusiastic to learn Thai, as evidenced by their enthusiasm in attending and practicing Thai. In addition, the difference in tone or way of reading makes it difficult for IP students to pronounce. But with serious effort, students who take the course can practice well.
The Thai language course held by the UMM Government Science Study Program has been widely requested by UMM Government Science students. This Thai language course is a place to develop the talents of UMM Government Science students in learning foreign languages. In the future, a new class will be held to accommodate students who have not had the opportunity to take the course in the first stage.
In addition to providing insight into the Thai language, this activity is also a preparation for students who will participate in the Student Exchange to Khon Kaen University, Thailand. So, they have the language skills to communicate with Thai students while they participate in the student exchange program. What an impressive experience.
