Malang, December 6, 2024 – The Government Studies Student Association (HIMAP) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) organized an upgrading event with the theme “Student Competency in Policy Analysis & Strategic Utilization of Artificial Intelligence.” The event, held in the FISIP Hall, was attended by all members of HIMAP UMM.
Upgrading is a training activity designed to enhance the quality and knowledge within an organization, aiming to improve its performance and strengthen solidarity among its members.
In his opening remarks, HIMAP advisor Mr. Ach. Apriyanto Romadhan, S.IP., M.Si., highlighted that future challenges for students extend beyond organizational skills to include technical competencies. He expressed hope that the insights shared by the speaker, Mr. Muhammad Eko Atmojo, S.IP., M.IP., an advisor from the Corps of Government Studies Students (KOMAP) at UMY, would be beneficial and applicable.
“One of the responsibilities of a student association is to provide value and gather information for the government studies community. Critical thinking among students involved in organizations is essential today, as they must understand what actions to take,” stated Mr. Muhammad Eko Atmojo, S.IP., M.IP.
He also encouraged the participants, saying, “The university period is a crucial time to build relationships and gain experiences, one of which is by joining organizations, as it will be highly beneficial for life after graduation.”
The upgrading event received positive responses from HIMAP UMM members. In addition to gaining knowledge, they learned about the operations and activities conducted by KOMAP UMY, which inspired them to enhance their own organizational performance.
