Monday, June 4, 2018, the IP Study Program, FISIP-UMM, held the launching of the Government English Club (GEC). Taking place in the Senate meeting room of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UMM, the launching activity was opened with a talk show with the theme of Pilkada, Democracy and Voter Discrimination. This event was attended by the head of GEC Elizabeth Maya who was also a resource person in the talk show. The talk show was also attended by the administrators and members of GEC, students and lecturers in the Government Science Study Program.
It should be noted that the Government English Class (GEC) is a facility provided by the IP FISIP-UMM Study Program to develop students' interests and talents, especially in the development of foreign languages (English). So it is not surprising that the launching of the Government English Club which is packaged in the form of a talk show requires each participant to use English as the language of instruction.
In the talk show, the speakers and participants discussed the rights of people with disabilities to vote in the upcoming democratic party, namely the 2018 REGIONAL ELECTION. The event was closed with the introduction of the Government English Club and the introduction of the 2018 Government English Club management members.
