To enhance the quality of education and work towards FIBAA international accreditation, the Government Studies Program held a workshop on international accreditation under the theme “Enhancing Sustainable Education Quality Through International Standards Quality Assurance.”
The event took place at Hotel Gndhis on Monday, December 9, 2024. It was attended by the Dean of FISIP (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), lecturers, and administrative staff actively involved in the accreditation process. Additionally, expert speakers from the Master of Government Studies program at UMY shared their insights.
The event began with opening remarks from the Dean of FISIP UMM, emphasizing the importance of international accreditation as a foundational step to enhance the university's global competitiveness. In an interactive session, the speakers delivered key presentations on innovation, public policy, and the development of internationally standardized curricula.
Prof. Dr. Drs. Irtanto, M.Si, highlighted the role of innovation and public policy in meeting stakeholder needs and addressing Indonesia's bureaucratic challenges. He stated, “Students must understand policy analysis as it is one of the primary needs of stakeholders.”
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, M.Si, emphasized the importance of curriculum design focused on graduate employability. “A good curriculum is one that ensures students have job opportunities after graduation,” she noted.
Through this workshop, participants gained in-depth insights into the importance of innovation in bureaucracy, the development of internationally standardized curricula, and the relevance of public policy. The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session that resulted in strategic recommendations as concrete steps toward achieving FIBAA international accreditation.
