Malang, February 24, 2024 – The Public Administration Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) organized an Academic Socialization, Government Research Internship, and Center of Excellence (COE) Program event. The event, held in the Ar. Fachrudin Mosque Hall on the first floor, was attended by students from the 2021 cohort and 2020 cohort students who had not yet completed their internships.

The Head of the Public Administration Program, Mr. Muhammad Kamil, S.IP., M.A., stated, "This year, the internship program has expanded its list of partner institutions compared to last year, which only involved one institution. Internship locations include Malang Raya, Magetan, central government institutions, and local governments."

The internship program will last for four months, spanning July, August, September, and October. It is integrated with final assignments or theses, with research conducted in alignment with the chosen institution. Students are encouraged to consult frequently with their supervisors and avoid absences without proper explanation. The internship program can also be converted into 20 credits, provided the consultation and attendance requirements are met.

Additionally, the event included the socialization of the Center of Excellence (COE) program, aimed at all 2021 cohort students. This program is a commitment from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang to enhance student skills. The COE offers two specialized tracks: the Professional Government and Political Analysis class and the Village Governance class.

As explained by Mr. Ali Roziqin, S.AP., MPA, "The Center of Excellence (COE) program provides facilities and benefits such as networking with partners and practitioners, module access, accelerated thesis/final project preparation, course credit conversion, hands-on experience with experts, COE certification, and outputs based on scientific publication."

The COE program is entirely free, as it is part of the facilities provided by Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang to its students. What sets the COE apart from regular classes is its specific curriculum, emphasis on practice and case studies, and project-based learning.
