Malang, August 23, 2024—The Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) conducted a workshop on Strengthening Laboratory Governance Based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) at the Kapal Garden Hotel Auditorium. The event was attended by all program lecturers and laboratory assistants.
Muhammad Kamil, S.IP., MA, Head of the Government Studies Program, emphasized the collaborative nature of the workshop, stating, “This activity provides an opportunity for all attendees to engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and design concrete and relevant plans.”
The workshop focused on laboratory governance rooted in OBE principles, highlighting the importance of managing laboratories to support clear and structured outcomes.
The Government Studies Laboratory at UMM is envisioned to become a research hub for students, facilitating access to data sources. This will be achieved by processing and managing the internal data collected thus far through a dedicated laboratory website.
“The purpose of this discussion is to ensure that the laboratory facilities not only meet academic standards but also serve as an effective space for enhancing students' competencies, particularly in developing skills and understanding governance and politics,” said Ali Roziqin, S.A.P., MPA, Head of the Laboratory.
This workshop marks a significant step toward ensuring that UMM’s Government Studies Laboratory serves not only as an academic learning support facility but also as an effective platform for honing students' practical skills and expertise.
