The Government Science Laboratory (Lab IP) is regarded as a crucial facility for developing students' competencies in researching and analyzing governmental, political, social, and cultural developments. To achieve these competencies, the laboratory focuses on three main aspects: strengthening hardware and software resources, developing human resources, and optimizing practicum programs as well as supporting programs to enhance students' skills.
Drs. Krishno Hadi, MA., elaborated, "The Government Science Laboratory is equipped with 18 computer units, 1 projector, 2 laptops, 1 digital camera, and 1 handycam. In terms of software, it includes GIS programs and asset management software. To support the operation of these facilities, we have assigned a laboratory assistant. These resources are prepared to support practicum sessions and other academic activities such as research, discussions, and seminars," he explained, describing the laboratory's condition.
"This semester (Odd Semester 2012/2013), there are two practicum courses: Public Service Management and Management Information System (MIS). The practicums planned include a public service survey for the Public Service Management course and Geographic Information System (GIS) practicum for the MIS course," he continued.
In addition to practicum programs, the laboratory strives to promote student discussion forums and provide literature resources such as books and journals.
