Malang, June 2, 2024—One of the lecturers in Communication Studies, Mr. Jamroji, S.Sos, M.Comms, delivered a lecture on Village Branding to the Center of Excellence (COE) Village Governance class, Government Studies Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
Village Branding is an important process for a village to become well-known by a larger audience. Village branding typically relates to the potential that exists within the village, including natural resources, culture, and even man-made products.
According to Mr. Jamroji, S.Sos, M.Comms, "Village branding is not something desired by the village itself, but rather by what the market wants. Therefore, we must also adjust to the market segment."
Today, Village Branding can be implemented using information technology such as websites. A website makes branding more effective and efficient, reaching and introducing the village to a wider audience.
With Village Branding, the local community also benefits as new job opportunities are created, thereby improving the quality of life for the residents.
In addition to the lecture, students also engaged in practical exercises by creating a Village Branding plan. This activity was met with great enthusiasm from the students, making the class engaging and enjoyable.
