The Journal of Local Government Issues (LOGOS), which has received the SINTA 2 National Accreditation, is getting serious about participating in internationalization. Efforts to improve reputation are shown by the following: Workshop on Accreditation of National and International Journals of Reputable Journals held by the Indonesian Government Science Study Program Unit (KAPSIPI) on 3-4 June 2022 in Yogyakarta. One of these workshops can be an evaluation of the management of the Journal before it is submitted to the Reputable International Indexation.
Iradhat Taqwa Sihidi, S.IP, MA, as managing editor, emphasized the benefits of this activity. Programs like this have many advantages for LOGOS to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the Journal, both in terms of management and substance. Iradhat stated that International indexation, especially Web Of Science (WoS) and Scopus, is an attempt to seek international visibility, which means there is perfect recognition for the quality of the Journal.
WoS and Scopus are the two leading indexes of international journal indexation that all journals must be able to achieve. Therefore, LOGOS needs to prepare itself seriously so that the target can be achieved. "From these activities, LOGOS needs to make a lot of improvements, such as improving the literacy of Scopus and Wos, attracting as many writers from abroad as possible, and perfecting the English language in articles, "explained Iradhat.
This process certainly requires a long time and maximum effort. Iradhat expressed his optimism that LOGOS, God willing, is sure that the target can be achieved because of the strong support from the management team and UMM Malang. "We have prepared several strategies and follow-up steps carefully so they can be implemented soon," closed Iradhat.
