After achieving the title of Best Head of Department (Kajur) in the University-level ranking and Second Place in the Kopertis Region VII ranking, Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., was selected by DIKTI as one of the finalists for the National Outstanding Head of Department Award in 2012. The achievement is expected to bring an academic aura and highlight the Government Studies Program at UMM, fostering student confidence, and strengthening the educational atmosphere within the program. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., stated, "This achievement is a form of participation to develop and strengthen the existence of the Government Studies Program at FISIP UMM. We want to show that UMM's Government Studies Program has a quality on par with state universities and even international universities," she explained, emphasizing the importance of achieving excellence.
To become the best Head of Department at the national level, innovation in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (Education, Research, and Community Service) is essential. Innovation in these three aspects must produce students and graduates with high academic competence. Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., said, “The program is required to innovate in ways that can effectively produce high-quality students and graduates. The Government Studies Program continues to innovate by improving the curriculum, human resources, teaching, laboratories, and libraries. However, such improvements require the active participation of students to make the best use of these facilities. Students need to be continuously encouraged to learn and engage in learning,” she said when interviewed by a reporter from Prodipnews at the Government Studies Office at FISIP UMM.
