The Student Association of the Government Studies Program (HIMAP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) organized a socialization and promotional event titled “Government To School.” This program aimed to introduce high school students to the Government Studies major, encouraging them to consider it as their academic choice after graduation. The program was conducted at three schools: SMAN 01 Karangrejo Tulungagung, SMAN 02 Batu, and MAN Kota Blitar.

The “Government To School” event took place on January 22, 2024, at SMAN 02 Batu. The event began with an opening speech by Jemmy Kurniawan, Vice Chair of HIMAP, followed by remarks from Amanda Nazarina Putri, the event's Chairperson. Afterward, a presentation was delivered by Aldy Febriansyah, who provided detailed information about UMM’s Government Studies Program, including career prospects, the Semester Credit System (SKS), the Center of Excellence (COE), and the achievements of students within the program. A Q&A session followed, where students of SMAN 02 Batu actively engaged with the speaker.

“Political Science focuses specifically on politics, while Government Studies is more universal, covering governance as well as politics,” explained Aldy.
“The quota for civil servant (PNS) positions in Government Studies is substantial, but it largely depends on how individuals perform during the recruitment tests,” he added.

The event provided students with valuable information about higher education options and introduced the opportunities offered by the Government Studies program at UMM. It also facilitated interaction and relationship-building between students and program representatives, creating a bridge for further information exchange and decision-making regarding college enrollment.

At SMAN 01 Karangrejo Tulungagung, the event was held on January 19, 2024, and at MAN Kota Blitar, it took place on January 23, 2024. Both sessions were conducted as part of the Campus Expo for Public and Private Universities (PTN and PTS), further promoting educational opportunities and inspiring students to pursue their academic goals.
