Alhamdulillah, in 2011, three Government Science faculty members successfully passed the lecturer certification, including Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., Drs. Jainuri, M.Si., and Drs. Asep Nurjaman, M.Si. According to Dr. Tri Sulistyaningsih, M.Si., “The recognition, such as receiving the lecturer certification, should be seen as an achievement that must be accounted for. Lecturer certification is not the final goal; it is a motivation to continue fulfilling all duties and responsibilities as a lecturer. Lecturers must be more diligent in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education program (education, research, and community service),” she said.
Looking ahead to 2012, she shared the developments within the program, stating that the Government Science Study Program will continue to grow stronger. This is because two lecturers who are pursuing further studies at Flinders University in Australia and the University of Indonesia (UI) will soon finish their studies and return to strengthen the Government Science Program. “They will bring new knowledge and experiences to share and implement for the development of the study program,” she said optimistically about the program’s future.
Drs. Jainuri, M.Si., the program secretary, explained, “In the future, the Government Science program should focus more on strengthening field practice and laboratory practice, as these two programs are seen as effective in supporting the development of students' skills. Additionally, he emphasized, research-based learning must continue to be reinforced. Both students and lecturers should engage in research programs so that the material discussed in class is adaptable to the evolving social, political, and governmental developments,” he added, explaining the future direction of the Government Science Study Program.
