Malang, August 21, 2024—The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held its Period IV graduation ceremony for 2024. The event began at 8:00 AM in the basement of UMM Dome, with 386 students from various programs participating in the ceremony.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FISIP, Prof. Dr. Muslimin Machmud, M.Si., emphasized the importance of leveraging the prestigious accreditation of their programs, including those with international recognition, as a social capital for competing with graduates from other universities.
“Graduating from a program with superior or even international accreditation is a strong foundation for competing in the workforce. However, you must also develop the right mindset and mental resilience to succeed. This is a crucial asset as you enter the professional world,” he stated.
He further advised the graduates, saying, “Building mental resilience involves confidence in your abilities and faith that what you have learned can be utilized when needed. Strengthening this mindset is essential as you step into the professional arena.”
According to the graduation decree read by FISIP Vice Dean I, Mr. Najamuddin Khairur Rijal, S.IP., M.Hub.Int., a total of 386 students graduated in Period IV, 2024. The graduates included:
