Friday, December 10, 2021, at Sang Enlightenment Hall 8th Floor, University of Muhammadiyah Gresik, UMM Malang Government Science Study Program (IP UMM) through Muhammad Kamil, S.IP., MA as the Head of Study Program following the Independent Learning Development Curriculum Workshop Merdeka Campus (MBKM). This activity was organized by the Region VII Higher Education Service Institute (LLDIKTI) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in collaboration with the University of Muhammadiyah Gresik.
IP UMM is one of the study programs with excellent accreditation status, which is very serious in planning and implementing MBKM. That's why workshops like this are essential, first, as a means of Learning Outcomes-based Curriculum Development (CP) to support MBKM. As stated in the Indonesian Education revolution, MBKM launched by the Minister of Education and Culture Nadin Makarim aims to encourage students to master various sciences to enter the world of work. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the curriculum so that learning outcomes are in line with the objectives of MBKM. Second, the means of finalizing supporting quality assurance so that the Learning Outcomes-based MBKM curriculum can be realized. Of course, the concept of quality assurance must be discussed carefully because the output of MBKM is quality graduates.
As the Head of Study Program, Muhammad Kamil emphasized the strong commitment of IP UMM. “This MKBKM program is still very new, so it is natural to need a process because there have been many fundamental changes in the learning system in higher education. UMM IP Study Program is undoubtedly required to seize these opportunities embodied in the right learning system. Therefore, for example, IP has developed an innovative case method and team-based project learning method. Such learning transformation is part of MBKM, which helps maximize student analysis through active participation in class through discussion, for example, to solve a problem (case method).
Meanwhile, team-based projects train students to work well together in completing an activity. IP is very serious about implementing MBKM, in addition to these activities so far, we have also developed cooperation to facilitate student learning as a supporter of MBKM implementation. Until now, it has been implemented with the Government Sciences of the Muhammadiyah University of Makassar and will continue to be developed with study programs on other campuses, including abroad, "concluded Kamil.
