Malang – RA Lutfitunnada Purwaningrum, or familiarly called Nada, is an alumnus of the Government Science Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (IP UMM) class of 2013 who has made brilliant achievements in the world of politics. This 2018 graduate succeeded in winning a position as a member of the Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency DPRD, South Sumatra, through the National Awakening Party (PKB). Public trust in her is getting stronger, as evidenced by her success in retaining her legislative seat for a second term in the 2024 Election.
Since her college days, Nada was known as a student who was active in various academic activities and organizations. Her interest in government and politics encouraged her to be more involved in social and youth activities. This experience became an important asset that helped her build a political career until she succeeded in becoming a people's representative at a young age.
In an exclusive interview, Nada revealed that the world of politics is a challenging arena, especially for young women. "Many doubted my capacity when I first ran for office. However, I believe that hard work, commitment, and good intentions will bring results," she said.
In addition to her career in politics, Nada also plays the role of a mother of one child. She emphasized the importance of balance between personal life and responsibilities as a member of the council. "Being a people's representative is a big mandate that must be carried out with full responsibility, but I also try to play my role as a mother. Both are equally important and complement each other," she added.
Nada's success in becoming a member of the DPRD at a young age is an inspiration for UMM students and alumni, especially for those who aspire to have a career in government and politics. The Head of the UMM Government Science Study Program also appreciated Nada's achievement. "We are very proud to see our alumni able to compete in the world of politics and make real contributions to society. Nada is proof that UMM IP graduates have high competence and competitiveness," said one of UMM IP lecturers.
It is hoped that the success of RA Lutfitunnada Purwaningrum can be a motivation for students to continue to work, contribute, and play an active role in building the region and the nation.
