Malang, December 4, 2024 – The Government Studies Program Laboratory at UMM, in collaboration with Pegadaian Malang City, Tlogomas Branch, held a product socialization event titled “Gadai Experience.” The event, which took place at the Masjid Hall, featured speakers directly from the Pegadaian Tlogomas Branch.
This socialization session was attended by all students of the Government Studies Program who were enrolled in the Practical Course on Development Planning Systems and Financial Governance. The activity aimed to provide practical insights to students on financial management through services offered by financial institutions like Pegadaian.
In her opening remarks, Mrs. Herlin Irawati, the Relationship Officer at Pegadaian Tlogomas Branch, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share knowledge and praised the enthusiasm of the students participating in the event.
“Pegadaian is an official institution under the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) that operates in the field of financial services and pawning. At Pegadaian, the system is buyback, meaning the value remains the same as the price at which we bought it,” explained the speaker.
She also advised students to utilize Pegadaian’s services when in need of emergency funds. “As students, we must be smart consumers and avoid falling into the trap of online loan schemes (pinjol),” she added.
This guest lecture served as a form of synergy between the academic world and official institutions like Pegadaian, aiming to create a financially aware generation that understands and practices prudent financial management.
